Casewise Corporate Modeler

Casewise Portal enables BNP to update their mapped processes and systems remotely through one central repository

Challenge

Three key departments within BNP CIB, with similar objectives, are facing more and more complex and specific challenges:

  • Equities & Derivaties: document their organisation which is changing constantly with their capital market activities growing fast and becoming more complex
  • Operational Risks: Risk Management for strategic decision making but also regulatory requirement
  • IT Transversal: evaluate the impact of an IT System change or failure on BNP CIB business

Solution

These three projects are based on a unique repository in order to gather all the information related to the different activities of BNP Paribas CIB. This repository allows the mapping and storage of Processes and Systems thanks to Corporate Modeler in order to:

  • Offer training materials accessible to all new joiners with the ability to update them easily
  • Communicate clear reports for Audit and Inspection purposes using the reporting feature
  • Quickly identify the impact of a change using impact diagram
  • Visualize weak points of the Business in order to optimize BNP Paribas CIB’s activities.

Results

Using Corporate Modeler and its modules, BNP Paribas CIB managed to:

  • Create a library of processes and systems with 12 object types, 1400 instances, 180 cartographies, due to the easy import process with the Automodeler module
  • Communicate internally with automatic HTML pages generated within the corporate intranet
  • Avoid a team dedicated to diagraming, all the staff of the different departments using Corporate
  • Modeler create their maps and diagrams thanks to collaborative acce
  • Combines different views of the organisation (process, system, front, middle or back office views) in a limited number of polyvalent and complete cartographie
  • Create a knowledge base allowing everyone to understand and analyse the organisation.
